Our Story
Rooted in ranching
Anthony Ranches is a registered Red Angus & commercial Red Angus Seedstock operation located in southwest Oklahoma and northwest Texas just outside of Ryan Oklahoma.
Jay Anthony is a third generation rancher behind his grandfather Frank and his dad Jess Anthony. Jay started at a young age ranching in west Texas raising Hereford cattle around Monahans and Pecos Texas.
In 1985 Jay Anthony and wife Jamie moved the ranch to Jal, New Mexico. This move also inspired the transition from Hereford cattle to Red Angus cattle. Red Angus cattle provided the needed characteristics to be a productive rancher in southeast New Mexico and west Texas. With guidance from Mary Dobry, a Red Angus Seedstock producer from Hobbs, New Mexico, Jay started producing purebred Red Angus cattle.
In 2012 Jay and Jamie along with two beautiful daughters Bailey & Katey Jo moved Anthony Ranches “Anthony Red Angus” to Ryan, Oklahoma for the smaller and fertile pastures to help reduce the workload during calving season.

At Anthony Red Angus, our goal is to raise solid, functional cattle that perform in a wide range of environments. We focus on fertile, maternal cows built to remain productive in the herd, along with ranch-raised bulls that combine strong phenotype, calving ease, and proven carcass merit. Our program is driven by a commitment to quality genetics that support the cow-calf producer and continue to add value through the feedyard.
